The ICE St. Moritz

January

The St. Moritz International Concours of Elegance (ICE) takes place each year on the frozen Lake St. Moritz in St. Moritz, Switzerland. This extraordinary event uniquely combines classic car racing on ice with an elegant concours exhibition, complemented by a selection of rare luxury and high-performance supercars. For decades, the town and its frozen lake have hosted prestigious polo tournaments and horse races, making a world-class classic car event a natural addition to this exclusive Alpine setting. Although ICE was only established in 2019, it has already experienced a dynamic history: the 2020 edition was cancelled, 2021 was held in a limited “lockdown” format, and the event returned in full glory in 2022 and 2023. In 2024, heavy snowfall once again forced a cancellation, but 2025 marked a highly successful comeback with strong visitor numbers. The event date has now been moved to the month of January.

Concourso d'Elegenza Villa d'Este

May

The Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este is widely regarded as one of the most prestigious classic car concours in Europe, and arguably in the world. The level of craftsmanship, rarity, and historical significance of the cars on display rivals that of the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, often considered the pinnacle of the classic and vintage car calendar. Unlike Pebble Beach, however, Villa d’Este on Lake Como does not have expansive golf lawns and is a more intimate event. Attendance is limited to only 50 exceptional cars, compared to the approximately 200 vehicles shown at Pebble Beach. This smaller scale is an advantage, allowing visitors more time to closely admire each car and engage directly with their owners. The featured cars, built between the 1920s and 1970s, are organised into different categories, with additional sections for supercars and concept cars. Judging and awards take place on Saturday at Villa d’Este, followed by a public showcase on Sunday at Villa Erba, where the cars are driven for visitors to enjoy in a spectacular lakeside setting. Read the EVC Experience Report

Fuori Concourso

May

The Fuori Concorso is a modern alternative—and complement—to the prestigious Villa d’Este Concours. Taking place on the same dates, the event unfolds across the elegant settings of Villa del Grumello, Villa Sucota, and Villa Elmo, all just a short walk from one another along the shores of Lago di Como. Launched in 2019, Fuori Concorso distinguishes itself from the traditional Villa d’Este Concours by focusing on more contemporary sports cars, including rare Porsches and other high-performance supercars. The event is widely regarded as fresh, dynamic, and exciting, designed to bring together like-minded car enthusiasts in a more relaxed yet sophisticated environment. Organized by Larusmiani, the iconic Milanese luxury fashion house founded in 1922 and currently led by the founder’s grandson, Guglielmo Miani Sr., Fuori Concorso blends automotive passion with Italian style. While the €195 day admission may seem steep for a car show, it includes perks such as wine tasting, talks by renowned automotive personalities, and additional entertainment, making it a truly immersive experience.

Motor racing returned to Goodwood in 1998 for the first time since the circuit’s closure in 1966, and the Revival has since grown into one of the world’s largest historic motorsport events. It is unique in being staged entirely in period dress, immersing visitors in the 1950s and 1960s era of racing. The circuit itself remains in its 1952 configuration, including the chicane, and no modern vehicles are permitted inside the circuit perimeter except essential fire and rescue vehicles. The festival also features theatrical sets that bring the past to life and historic aircraft displays, creating an unforgettable spectacle.
