Original Bertone drawing of the 1979 Fiat 131 Abarth Rally. This is a rare factory copy of the master technical blueprint made in the ’70s by Bertone.

The Fiat 131 Abarth Rally was a homologation special to qualify for World Rally Championship. In 1976, 400 examples of the Fiat 131 Abarth Rally were built in collaboration between Fiat, Bertone and Abarth. Bertone took part-completed two-door standard bodyshells from the production line in Mirafiori, fitted plastic mudguards front and rear, a plastic bonnet and boot lid and modified the metal structure to accept the rear independent suspension. The cars were fully painted and trimmed and then sent back to the Fiat special Rivalta factory where they received the Abarth mechanics. In 1980 the 131 Abarth Rally was driven to World Championship by legendary rally driver Walter Röhrl.
