1933 Goventosa's Monowheel
This motorised Monowheel was built in 1931 by Mr M. Goventosa of Udine, Italy. Reportedly, it was claimed that Goventosa’s monowheel could reach a ludicrous top speed of 150 kph or about 93 mph. The basic principle of the monowheel is always the same. A rider is placed inside a big wheel along with a motor. These one-wheelers were totally impractical because braking was almost impossible and it was guaranteed that the monowheel would kill you sooner rather than later. Only the bravest dared to ride in these evil and dangerous constructions.
